Travelling to the U.S.? Here is What You Need to Know!

Recently, I took a trip to the States. It was a much-awaited holiday since I had been saving for years for a country that I have always wanted to go to. Now, I know that a lot of my readers are either planning a trip to the US or dreaming about going there! I wanted to take a moment and highlight my travel experience which I feel can help anyone who is planning to go to the United States. I feel that the US is a world of its own and you do deserve to vacation there at least once in your lifetime. For whenever you get the chance, I assure you that this write-up will come in handy.

I travelled to the US with my group of friends for a long weekend. We wanted a change in the environment after the COVID era. The US is a diverse place as it has everything from coastlines to large cities. Every city that we visited has beautiful sceneries and monument attractions. From great accommodations to dining options with mouth-watering tasty eateries, the US is everything you ever expected!

One tourist place that we travelled to in the US and collectively loved was the Yellow Smith National Park. If you are a nature lover and the soothing atmosphere refreshes your mood, this is the place for you. Here, you will find peace and beauty both at the same time.

One of my friends out of the group that I went with is a peace lover. He is the kind of person who likes to go to relaxing places like the beach. One fine day, he decided to take us to Lake Tahoe in Boston. It was perfect timing since now was the season for lake-related activities like kayaking and boating. We did everything! Along with assistance for these activities, they also have a restaurant on the lakeside and shops where we can buy souvenirs from.

Each one of us in the group is a lover of hills and trekking. On our first day in the US, we went to Kauai, Jackson Hole, and Steam Boat Springs. We had not one but many discoveries after we completed our short treks to these places.  We saw views of lush areas like parks and rivers from heights. On our way to the hilltop, we saw a variety of trees that none of us have ever come across. At the hilltop, most of the trees are of a certain short height so that the visitors can enjoy the views. We made beautiful memories of a lifetime.

These were my top 3 places in the US. Whether you are going on a solo trip or with your loved ones, these are a must-visit. After visiting these places, I almost felt jealous of the residents of the US! The beauty of this country amazed me and I feel like if I visit another time, it will amaze me once again!

We all know it is important to do our research on every aspect of our trip before we go ahead with bookings and payments. This is the same for any city we plan to travel to. However, I want to emphasize one particular aspect when it comes to planning a vacation in the US. Here is what I am talking about –

The Power of Customer Reviews and Ratings

Even though this is important for all your trips, it is extremely important when visiting the States. This is because most of us are often so excited that our dream of holidaying in the US is finally coming true, that we fail to pay attention to the technical parts.

No matter how far you are travelling, always read customer reviews and feedback about all places. Whether it is the hotel you are planning to book or the locality where the hotel is located, read about everything. Also, research the best restaurants around your stay. Customer reviews will not only tell you about the quality of the food but also it’s pricing.

Trust me, being well researched about the country you are planning to travel to can never backfire. It will save you from blunders like getting a huge bill at a restaurant or going to a restaurant that shows on Google but has shut down long ago!

That is all from my side. I wish you all the luck with your US trip planning now or in the future!

Vacation with Friends – Tips for an Amazing Trip!

While some friends are our human diary, they are an escape for others. Whether it is a hard day at work or a piece of heartbreaking news we did not want to hear, one thing that keeps us going is our friends and their ability to cheer us up in all kinds of situations.

Hands down, the best memory we can make with our friends is to plan a vacation and execute it! The rush to imagine how much fun a trip is going to be and the excitement to think that we are going to be away from our routine life and with our friends 24/7, gives us goosebumps altogether!

However, there are two sides to every coin. Even though there is a lot of unmatched excitement, there is some uncertainty too. A trip with friends comes with a lot of differing opinions and conflicting views as well. For instance, you might want to enjoy the serene mountains but another friend in the group might want to enjoy th sun at a beach.

Now in such cases, neither do you want to compromise on your vacation preferences nor do you want to ruin your friendship. To ensure an incredible trip with your friends, follow the tips given below and see how you have the best time ever!

Holidaying With Friends!

Planning is Key

Every individual going on the trip needs to be on the same page. Everyone has a different definition of ‘fun’ and to understand what it means for everyone, planning is required. Either meet up over a coffee or drinks or get on a conference call and start planning. Try not to be a control freak. Instead of telling everyone what to do, try to manage all expectations.

Decide Budget Before Hand

Money matters are one thing that can create a lot of stress and tension in the friend’s group. Be open about what you are expecting and also respect the budget decided by your friends. Before you take the trip, ensure you and everyone else are comfortable with the expenses.

Take Out Some Time for Yourself

Even though you are going on a group trip with friends, it is not a crime to have some solo time. You need to understand that a trip with buddies does not mean being together every minute of every day. Give some space to them and take some time out for yourself too. In case you are facing any challenges or having arguments with your friends, some alone time can give you perspective too.

Be Open Minded

What we mean is, to find a balance. Try to not be too opinionated but at the same time, do not be too laid back too. You need to be flexible with plans changing or things not going as planned.

The Right Way to Travel with Colleagues

Travelling for work is quite different from when you are travelling with your friends or family. All of us would agree that no matter how close we are with our work buddies, the comfort zone is not the same as it is with our loved ones. This difference is even more evident when you are required to travel with your colleagues.

There are all types of offices. While you may be required to travel with colleagues very frequently, other offices may have a yearly trip for all employers. In both cases, you are travelling with your buddies from the work environment and while you may be excited, it may make you a little anxious too.

No matter what kind of an office trip it is, there is always an agenda. Remember that the aim of work trips is not only to enjoy. It can either be to meet a client and score a deal or a more casual trip that requires employers to create a bond for working better as a team in the future.

We do not want you to back out from a trip with colleagues just because you are having last-minute jitters or are not sure about what is the right way to act for these few days the trip will take place. Given below are a few tips that will come in handy and will prepare you for a trip with your colleagues.

Maintain Professional Boundaries

It is okay to be close friends with your colleagues. However, it is a work trip after all. If there is anything you would avoid doing or saying at the office, do not say it on the trip either. Try and keep the sharing of personal details to a minimum or not at all.

Take Initiative

We do not suggest doing this only during the trip but also when the trip is being planned. You can opt to book tickets or help with the itinerary. While this may be some extra work, you can kickstart the trip with some extra points. If you do volunteer for anything, do ask everyone if they have any special requirements.

Create a Bond

There is no better time than an office trip to create meaningful bonds. You can start by giving compliments or trying out a conversation started. Try and use your phone a little less so that you do not come out as someone who is not interested. Socialise with your colleagues but also be sure that you do not overshare or gossip.

Do Not Hesitate to Say No

While it is natural and positive to get out of your comfort zone, do not do it out of pressure or the fear of saying no. Sometimes, we give in to a lot of things at the office just because we feel like saying no will create a bad impression. However, it is okay to say no to activities or plans you are not comfortable taking part in during the trip. Just make sure you are polite and are giving a valid reason for why you may be saying no.
