With only a week to run until this year’s Manchester Day on Saturday 27 July, the job is underway to get the metropolis center match fit as it is bent into Manchester’s biggest-ever garden for the city’s famous day of the year.
A winning schedule crammed full of fun, free, things to see and do – all with a sporting harmony – has been put jointly specially for the daytime, which reaches off the unions from noon.
Encouraged by a multinational summer of sport, it will visit the city’s streets and courtyards filled with melody, dancing, jaw-dropping fireworks, and pop-up concerts in the most improbable of places, as well as all types of have-a-go exercises that are sure to ignite the competitive spirit in guests of all ages.
The medal-winning agenda for the day has been collected by the city council in collaboration with outdoor arts experts Walk the Plank and swears something for all and for all sporting capabilities – with fun activities to entice and delight even the most dubious of athletes.
In a Manchester Day memorable for this year. The day is to celebrate the incredible summer of international sport. The metropolis has combined with the UK’s sports bodies to obtain a whole sports-day cost of taster sessions. All sorts of diverse sports and fitness activities.

CATHEDRAL GARDENS
Big screen sporting activity: Notice all the action from Paris, including the commencement ceremony, at our unique screening site.
Cathedral Gardens will be available from Friday 26 July afternoon offering big-screen sporting activity from Paris, containing the introduction ceremony live from the French capital on Friday nighttime and the first day of live sporting activity all day on Saturday 27 July. Start times for Cathedral Gardens as tracks: Fri 26 July noon – site fans with access to meals and liquid stalls
4 pm onward – live screening forms of the build-up to the opening ceremony. The location will close when the commencement ceremony concludes. Sat 27 July – starting from noon – 10 pm
Have-a-go sports: Take on the mark objectives challenge in the Manchester United Foundation Panna Cage, recreate a small-sided play, or brush up on your specialized work with experienced coaches. Bag a steal at the second-hand sportswear and tools pop-up shop, operated by Manchester FA.
